The motivation to foster an online space like Oddle was always manifold. First and foremost, it was to create a medium that brings people, especially students, together and facilitates an accessible way of sharing interests and generating dialogue on important issues.

Launched while the country, and the world, adapts to life with COVID-19 and staying indoors, Oddle also intends to create a unique opportunity for students to engage themselves and find their niche, whether that’s in creative writing, the visual arts and graphic design, or in critically thinking about global issues that resonate with all of us. It is a space not only for students to express their experiences of living through a pandemic and lockdowns, but also to explore the topics and fields they have found an interest in during this time.

As a student run platform, the blog includes contributions from creative, enthusiastic high school students, online workshops, events, and content they have curated or found engaging.

“It is an important time not only for students to come together and collectively find ways to define what our takeaways from this time can be, but also to find ways in which they can continue to individually define their voice. We hope Oddle becomes the space that bridges these goals, and becomes an innovative channel of learning for students.”
